Membership of the association is open to all gardeners whether they are allotment plot holders or not. The membership fee is £6 per year (2022) and includes group membership of the National Allotment Society.

Notice of AGM

Wrexham Allotment and Leisure Gardeners’ Association
Notice is hereby given that the Association’s Annual General Meeting will be held at the War Memorial Club (by Tesco), Wrexham on Thursday, 19th November, 2015 at 7.00 for 7.15 p.m.

Any proposed agenda items for discussion or notices of motion proposing changes in the Constitution and Rules should be submitted to the Secretary, in writing, by Thursday, 5th November.  Any notice of motion must be signed by the proposer and seconder.

The Constitution and Rules, as agreed at the last AGM, provide that the officers should serve for a maximum of four years, after which they would stand down and not be eligible for re-election for at least two years.  It was, however, agreed that this system be introduced on a phased basis, to be arranged by the Executive Committee.

The offices to be filled at this AGM are as follows:
Chairman (resulting from the death of Mr Huw Griffith).   Norman Land, our existing Vice-Chairman, will be nominated to fill this post and so, if he is elected, nominations will be invited for the position of Vice-Chairman at the AGM.
Secretary ^^^^ (Dave Roberts is standing down after 4 years’ service)
Assistant Show Secretary (with a view to taking over as Show Secretary at the 2016 AGM)
Site Representative for Erddig Allotments (following the resignation of Christine Matthews-Sheen)
Site Representative for Victoria Road Allotments (Gareth Davies is standing down)

**** It may be possible to divide the work carried out by the existing Secretary into two or three different roles, e.g. General Secretary (including minutes of meetings), Membership Secretary and Web-site Manager.  Anyone interested in any of the offices is welcome to contact the Secretary or the Show Secretary for an informal chat.

Nominations of members to fill any of these posts, signed by a proposer and seconder should be submitted to the Secretary by the 5th November.  At present, all of the officers are Allotment Gardeners with plots at the Prices Lane site and so nominations of plot holders from other sites or from among our Leisure Gardener members would be most welcome.
