Show News

The Schedules for the Association’s Annual Flower and Vegetable Show, which is to be held on 16th August, are now available at the Prices Lane Shop.   Council allotment plot holders will receive copies, via the Council, in due course, but if you want a copy beforehand, please call in at the shop.

The four Wrexham Town Community Councils - Acton, Caia Park, Offa and Rhosddu -have each donated £50 to sponsor groups of classes, as have Dickens Vauxhall Wrexham, GreenThumb Lawn Treatment Service and Griffiths Hire Shops.  In addition, GreenThumb have donated an additional £50, to sponsor four Special Prizes of £12 each, to be awarded for the following:

Most Points in Fruit and Vegetable Classes
Most Points in Flowers and Plants Classes
Most Points in Home Products and Handicrafts Classes

This means that there will be a total of £402 in prize money on offer.

We have also had a further two donations of £60 and £50, from the recently retired Mayor of Wrexham, Councillor David Bithell and Gordon Mytton Developments, which will be used to purchase two new perpetual trophies.   One will be presented for Most Points in Show and the other for Best Exhibit in Show.

We hope as many members as possible will have a go and enter some exhibits, even if only in a few classes.   There are classes to suit everyone, but you have to be in it to win it!
