About WALGA

Membership of the association is open to all gardeners whether they are allotment plot holders or not. The membership fee is £6 per year (2022) and includes group membership of the National Allotment Society.

LIST OF CLASSES


Fruit and Vegetable Classes
1.         6 pods of French Beans
2.         6 pods of Runner Beans
3.         Longest Runner Bean
4.         3 Beetroot – tops trimmed to 3”
5.         1 Cabbage – green round – with 3” of stalk
6.         3 Carrots – stump type – tops trimmed to 3”
7.         1 Courgette – any colour
8.         1 Cucumber
9.         1 Table Marrow not to exceed 15
10.        Heaviest Marrow
11.        3 Onions from seed
12.        3 Onions from sets
13.        7 Shallots
14.        6 Pods of Peas
15.        3 Potatoes – white
16.        3 Potatoes – coloured
17.        5 Tomatoes
18.        5 Tomatoes – cherry or small plum
19.        Plate of Soft Fruit – single type and variety – 10 individual fruits if berries and 5 sprays if currants
20         Any other single vegetable not included elsewhere within schedule


Collection Classes
21.     A collection of any four vegetables – two of each kind
22.        Top Tray - to be displayed on black painted or covered board – 24” x 18”

26.        6 Asters
27.        5 Dahlias or 3 large Dahlias, i.e. over 8” in diameter
28.        3 Gladioli
29         3 Roses
30         9 Sweet Peas
31         Any single bloom or flower spike
32         Vase or Bowl of Cut Flowers – 3 or more types
33         Vase or Bowl of Shrub Foliage – 3 or more types
